The books contain designs of bouquets, floral borders, beaded swags, and other shapes, that could be used for embroidery. The designs are shown both in colour and in black and white (the latter probably to be used to transfer the design). The last pages of the second volume show designs of memorial tombs, picturesque ruins, and weeping willows. The first design in the second volume actually is an embroidery.
