Chantilly lace is a form of handmade bobbin lace that originated in the seventeenth century in Chantilly, France. It was copied in the nineteenth century in Bayeux, also in France, and in Geraardsbergen, Belgium, but also elsewhere, such as in Gent and Brussels.

Chantilly lace is characterised by its many details that are outlined in cordonnet. Originally mostly made of black silk, and shawls and other garments with Chantilly lace were often used for mourning.

Since the mid-nineteenth century a machine-made Chantilly lace was produced.
