There are many different forms of whitework, but some of the most widely known are Ayrshire whitework, broderie anglaise, chikan embroidery, Dresden work; Fontenoy embroidery; Hardanger embroidery, Mountmellick embroidery and St. Gallen embroidery. See also: Hans Holbein the Younger and whitework
