Staff
The director of the Stichting Textile Research Centre (TRC) is Dr. Gillian Vogelsang-Eastwood. She is a trained textile archaeologist and a specialist in Middle Eastern textiles and dress and the history of embroidery. Her most recent publication is The Atlas of World Embroidery. Dr. Vogelsang-Eastwood is also the instructor of a number of educational activities at the TRC, like the Intensive Textiles Courses; the study days What is embroidery? and What is a thread?; and the lectures on Tutankhamun's warderobe and Middle Eastern embroidery.
Augusta de Gunzbourg is the TRC's Head of Exhibitions and Education. She has a master's degree in Asian Studies in History, Arts and Culture from the University Leiden and focuses her research on Asian textiles, historical fashion and textile material culture. She will give the lectures Sustainability and WWII, The History of Paisley and 1920's fashion. Some of her most recent blogs:

Our Collection Manager is Emilie Lambert. She has a master's degree in Archaeology Science. She wrote her thesis on archaeological weaving practices and focuses her current research on the archaeological objects in the TRC collection. Some of her most recent blogs:

Volunteers
Alice van Duijnen takes care of the TRC reference collection. She is experienced in many textile techniques ever since she learned knitting at the age of 6. She regularly teaches workshops at the TRC, spreading her knowledge. The coming year she teaches the following workshops:
Bjarne Lubbers is a librarian at the TRC. He takes care of upkeep and logistics of the library. He has a bachelor's degree in Philosophy: Global and Comparative Perspectives.
Mayte van den Broeck works with our collection, taking photographs of objects and ensuring the information in our online catalogue is accurate. She is currently working on her thesis research about two Belgian lace museums for her master in Heritage and Memory Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She also authored the following TRC blogs:

Expert advice
In addition, the work of the TRC is supported by a number of people who give specialist advice, or who undertake specific tasks, as for instance Els de Baan on Western fashion; Dr. Anna Beerens, for Japanese and Western fashion; Dr. Chrystel Brandenburgh, on archaeological textiles, especially from Northwestern Europe; Coen van der Geest, who helps with IT, especially related to the database and digital catalogues; Joost Kolkman, who maintains the TRC website; Olga Leromina, who helps with lace identification; Deandra de Looff, who specialises on archaeological textiles; René Lugtigheid, who advises on conservation techniques; Dr. Tineke Rooijakkers, who advises on Middle Eastern textiles and dress; and Paul Spijker, who advises on African textiles.
