The annual Textile Festival will this year be organised in Leiden, from Wednesday 24th until and including Sunday 28th March . For the full programme, see www.textielfestival.nl. The Textile Research Centre (Hogewoerd 164) will be open to visitors every day of the Festival, from 10.00 in the morning until 17.00 in the afternoon. At the TRC visitors can see the exhibition on Arab embroidery (see below), and /or attend one or more of the lectures. The lecture programme can be found by clicking here. The address is indicated under No. 33 in the Festival programme.

To celebrate the Festival in a more visual way, the TRC organises two exhibitions. The first deals with Arab embroidery and is shown at the TRC premises (click here for more information about the embroidery exhibition). The second exhibition is about Indian saris, and is organised together with the National Museum of Ethnology. This exhibition is on show in the Volkenkunde Museum, Steenstraat 1 (click here).

The TRC is of course also present in the Pieterskerk, where the main part of the Textilefestival programme will be held. Here the TRC shows a small display of Balkan clothing.

Looking forward to seeing you all !
