Example of a double knitted shawl.Example of a double knitted shawl. For those who also attended the first double knitting workshop, on 24 January 2019 or 30 January 2020, or who have mastered the technique of double knitting, a follow-up workshop will be offered on Thursday 27 February.

For those who have previously attended the double knitting workshop, the expansion with the design of a Double Marl piece of work is a nice deepening of the double knitting technique. The Double Marl technique is a combination of rib knitting and double knitting. In this lesson we make a test piece in the Double Marl technique. And we also make a design for a cowl (hood) or a triangular scarf.

The workshop is again given by Mrs. Hadewych van der Werf, specialist in the field of Norwegian and other knitting techniques. The workshop is spread over the entire day, from 10.30 in the morning to 15.00 in the afternoon, with a break.

Date: Thursday, February 27, 2020. Time: 10.30 am - 3 pm, with a break. Location: TRC Leiden, Hogewoerd 164, 2351 HW Leiden, the Netherlands. Teacher: Hadewych van der Werf. Language: Dutch. Costs: 40 euros. Coffee / tea are provided. Lunch on your own. Max number of participants: 12. Register well in advance: This email address is being protected from spambots. Material: please bring two balls of a smooth woollen yarn in two contrasting colours. These can also be residual yarns. I prefer no Shetland-like wool, because it is more difficult to start with. Also bring two knitting needles, for example: size 3 or 3.5.
