TRC digital exhibitions is a project that was set up in early 2017 to highlight some of the most interesting and intriguing objects housed in the TRC collection, which currently, by August 2017, includes some 17,000 objects. In keeping with the TRC philosophy that textiles and garments constitute an all-important facet of, and means of access to any society and culture, the items in the digital exhibition were not selected because of their perceived beauty or attractiveness, but primarily because they tell and illustrate a particular story of the community that produced and used them. The digital exhibitions therefore put the particular objects into their own thematic context, provide background information, and include image galleries that link directly to the digital catalogue of the TRC collection.
