Kimono Parts: the underpinning of a kimono

The appearance of women’s kimonos from Japan is well known, but less familiar are the pads, ties and undergarments that are required to create the streamlined silhouette.

  • Contents: The display comes with a kimono, the undergarments, two photographs and a short text describing the history of the kimono, how it is worn and its importance in Japanese society.
  • Availability: This display is currently available.
